Project – Support of VET at secondary schools

The project had been realized by RPIC-ViP ltd. company in co-operation with 14 partner secondary schools in the Moravian-Silesian region during a period from November 2008 until May2011.

One of the main objectives of this project was to increase motivation of pupils of grammar schools to study technical subjects as a key factor for development of specialised education and at the same time to increase quality of specialised education in partner secondary schools. While meeting these project´s objectives with a financial support of Operational programme for Competitiveness, the following activities had also been realised, established or promoted:

62 open – door days attended by 3337 participants and 64 days at school with a total of 2137 participants;

12 specialised contests aiming to motivate pupils of grammar schools to study technical subjects with a total of 362 participants (for example contest in model constructing using technical combination boxes etc.);

11 other supporting actions (courses for pupils of grammar schools – i.e. 3D modelling course, promotion activity “Chemistry in a castle” etc.) aiming to motivate pupils to study technical subjects with a total of 689 participants;

107 excursions of students from partner secondary schools in companies, at fairs, universities and technical museums with a total of 4127 participants;

44 specialised contests for students from partner secondary schools (for example Day of Engineers, contests in programming CNC machines, modelling in CAD and CAM systems etc.) with a total of 1105 participants;

11 specialised courses for students from partner schools with the aim to deepen their specialised skills (for example programming of CNC machines, car diagnostics etc.) with a total of 280 participants;

35 created and pilot attested educational manuals, 9 of them are with ICT component;

1 specialised conference “The future of specialised vocational education – THE RIGHT DIRECTION” focused on pedagogical staff and advisory teachers at grammar schools, aiming to introduce educational offers at partner secondary schools and job opportunities for graduates of these secondary schools;

1 specialised conference “The future of specialised vocational education – THE RIGHT DIRECTION” subtitled “Career for secondary school graduates” focused on students from partner secondary schools aiming to introduce opportunities for further career development in technical fields;

7 three-day courses focused on key competence development of pedagogical staff from partner schools with a total of 99 participants.

An integral and essential part of the project was also an opportunity to purchase equipment for specialised multimedia classrooms in all 14 partner secondary schools.
